Do some laptops not allow you to zoom in or out in EE

I use the touchpad, and I think scroll lock is off. Page up and Page down doesn't work in the game unless I use on screen keyboard, which is something I don't want to do. -

So I have two computers that I play EE on, and one of them doesn't zoom in or out, no matter what I try. The one that doesn't zoom (not sure if its important) is a Lenovo IdeaPad 5. Does anyone else have similar problems on there computers or is it just mine?
