Is it my fault?

I've been playing this game for 20 days now, it's quite fun albeit the game is mostly populated by end game players or fully geared players who stayed at level cap. There's some who friendly, helpful but there's also the annoying one. Since i'm still at lv 39, i didn't know what's end game situation like but for the last 20 days, i know that the players who stay at level cap are the most annoying.

I know that at the core this game is pvp-centric but i still tried to enjoy this game, mainly the pve and honestly the eye candy ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). I've, up to the point i decided to make a thread at forum just to complain & vent my annoyance, there's 3 instances/situation where the level cap players annoys me most.

First is janus. I count 8 times i registered at janus, all of that when i'm going through at level 20 to 30, 1 times i fought lv 29 rg who kindly help me reduce towers hp & let me kill the towers, after that we both just sit there at middle until timers stop. 2 times i fought a lv 25 & 27 players who proceed to kill me while i do my best with my base gear +3 to kill the towers but they only do it once & let me kill 1 tower at least. then the rest of 5 times i played at janus is facing fully geared lv 29 players who always procceed to curb stomp me whenever i spawn back. Well, thanks to that i never hit Janus ever again

The 2nd & 3rd situation is at pvp area, viledon. which bring to my point & question; "Is it my fault?"

i've met 2 players, 1 is recently who make me so angry & frustrated that i make an account & thread at this forum who slaughter is probably the best word for it whenever i'm doing escort quest & trying my best at killing helios. I know that viledon is pvp area so it's an open season really, but to the point to keep killing me whenever i spawn & run back to escort the hauler the proceed to spawn killing me at base when i confront & asking the player why keep killing me. I ask; "Is it my fault for playing, questing at pvp area?"

Then the other player that made me making this thread, same situation with above. Keep killing me even at spawn point up until the time i write this thread. Been doing it for almost an hour now. I ask again; "Is it my fault for playing, questing at pvp area?"

the question i ask when i confront both of them is: "Is it fun killing a newbie who just doing it's own thing as a fully geared player?"

Again, i ask y'all; "Is it my fault?"

If it is prob best i avoid all pvp realted in this pvp-centric game 😕

Sounds like you have an ego maniac on your hands. For the escort quests in Viledon there's two way around them to keep from being killed at each one. The first step is to not follow them closely. I know that some escort quests require you to not travel too far from them, but in the case of the hauler and tech lady that walks you just have to be at 3 locations for the whole thing. 1st location as you know is the start, if you are not there at the start you won't get it done. 2nd is the mid point where they stop and sit before moving again, now for the hauler you can use the guards to keep from being killed. For the walking lady you need to be there before they finish checking to make sure you are still there, if you die you could just stay dead till they start moving again. The final location you need to be is at their finish location. For the hauler once it enters the neutral territory it will make a left or right depending on which way it enters and all you need to be there when it makes that final turn. For the walking lady you just have to be standing by the guards by the entrance where your faction side is on. You don't have to be alive at these points, but you do have to be there when the system makes a count of all those who are there at each point. This was made so that you can leave the escort to go kill the opposing side's escort and come back before your escort moves from each location. Many players once the count is made take off toward the other factions escort attack it and then head back to their escort in hopes to not miss the escort count. If they didn't kill the other escort they go back to the other escort after that mid stop and attempt it again, though some wait till after that mid stop is complete before going after the other escort.

As for Janus, there are players that prefer a fair battle and like fun pvp and there are those who will just attack the hell out of you for ego boosting. For me I like to help players who aren't on par with me even if they are on an opposing faction, but I also would hope they don't expect my generosity to continue 100% of the time when it comes to opportunity to loot much sought after items.

While it isn't you, it's also you aren't ready to handle the kind of players you mentioned. I don't know when you will be on, I do play both FK and RG side but usually in a different time zone than now. Right now it shows 1:11pm MST, but I won't get on for another 7 to 8 hours when it's about 8pm or 9pm MST. Don't ask for the GST calculations because I don't care to memorize it in relationship to my time zone. Anyway, there are players that wouldn't mind helping you out, but you can always farm DGs for gears you need that aren't base. DM and BC are for 29 cap, SF and IV for unique delta gear and gold for enhancing for 30~39 cap, and AT and SS for Zeta gears at 40~49 cap. 50 cap is probably easy to obtain kappa gears since end game players tend to loot them in every DG for 50+. If you do plan on leveling past each cap to end game I recommend at least making your gears to +8 so that you can farm for the gears at the next level cap.

Well i know how you feel like, even tho i play SB since the official server open beta, and even after the EU server shut down/got merged with US server, i kept playing until SB completely shut down.

I was always a big fan of this game and when i saw SB Vendetta i was just happy an joined.

At the Beginning ofc you do the usual stuff, questing, lvling up, farming dungeons, gear up and enhancing to get better.

But no matter what, in Janus, Turnpike and stuff i always got beaten, but it was okay, maybe i was just not prepared enough with my gear. So continuing to questing and lvling up, brings you to other maps, like Viledon and later Harpy Battle Base for 40+ lvl.

And the higher you get on your lvl, the worse it gets. In Viledon i barely saw anyone, maybe 2 people on different days when i was questing in that map. After i got to Harpy Battle Base, i sometimes just afk a bit near Gloria, to get something to drink and eat, watching a video on youtube or whatever, just to have a little break from questing and farming inbetween.

When i switch back into the game, i just see my char dead next to Gloria. It doesnt matter if im playing on RG or FK side, it sometimes happens to me, that there are players from the other Fraction, that loves to have fun of lower geared people.

At the Moment i have 3 Chars between lvl 47 and 48/almost 49 with Zeta Gear +8 / +9. I know i could do better but sometimes im kinda lazy, so i get killed here and there sometimes.  I mean its okay to get killed in a pvp based game and in pvp areas, you cant just always win, but what i am really annoyed about is that those people can just rush into the opposite Base where are so many Npcs of your own fraction moving around, shooting at them and stuff, but actually these people dont get any dmg by those npcs and can just insta kill you, no matter where you hide, you are not save in any spot you hide. And after they killed you, they just rush out of the base, waiting outside for a minute, and then just come back looking out for you if you are still there and revived and insta kill you again.

I guess the only thing you can do, trying to ignore it. If someone is perma killing you, just stay dead and have a little break for a few minutes, get something to drink, eat, or watch a video. Most of those people, lose the fun about to wait until you revive or just log off for a few minutes and they leave.

Thats at least what i do, to avoid getting stressed out by those fully geared +12 people with max lvl pets, full pet data chips and uni cyberskin/mechs, who have fun to annoy lower geared people. That pretty much helps me to keep the fun even in those pvp areas, cause i really love the game itself and i know the vendetta staff always try their best to improve the game and to keep the fun.

So to answer your question after that wall of text: No its not your fault, to play in pvp zones and questing there, since its a part of the game. Its actually the other players who, like GoddessSand already said, needs to boost their ego.

Maybe you can find a helpful guild on your Fraction, who will support you.

I do not have one either, because i dont really wanna bother other players with questions about to help me with anything, so i just try to do it myself, even if it takes time and nerves, but maybe someone is kind enough to get you into a nice guild.

Sorry if my text is kinda long, but i wanted to clear out, that you are not alone with those Situations and that it is not your fault. 😊

Sounds like Italy's fetish. There is nothing you can do about this, either we continue to go on with this pity party or get yourself some proper gears by giving Vivi some $$. There are a few people willing to help you but I think they wont be willing to spend gold on level 39 cap gears.

  • Get 29k AP buy pet and pet chips.
  • Get a Max toon use that to farm.
  • Gear your lesser toon.

I know all too well those feelings against those "bullies". It once caused me stress irl so bad that it affected my day job.

Here's some suggestions on how to deal with those mutherfuckahz based on personal experience.

1.) Revenge or fighting back just as what Beau suggests. Thing is this only works if ya able to win against em and tends to become even more frustrating if ya fail. Another thing is that those "bullies" intend to make you sad and/or angry at them expecting you to fight back and fail over and over again, thus your vengeance only serves the validation of their success.

2.) Call for Help. Very much the same as revenge^ except this involves relying on allies. It's really sad when no one comes for help. And unless those professional noobkillers hack/cheat, ya cant expect any help from GS/GM no matter how many times they interfere with your affairs.

3. Ignore em just as what Box said. This is arguably the best course of action. "Get used to it" is our anthem but most importantly "DONT BECOME LIKE THEM".

4. Mock em (my personal favorite). They relish in crushing weaklings underneath their soles but they would hate to step on to a big pile of shit. I say be a shit! ... Metaphor aside, seriously, one sure way to hurt their ego is to overfeed em. They pick on noobs cuz they wanted easy kills so I gave em exactly that by goin buck naked. I simply fed em stupidly easy kills until they got bored and/or realize that I'm ridiculing em.

p.s. After I become geared enough, in 1v1 bg, I pvp using only alpha gears whenever I face folks I highly respect knowing they'd respond accordingly. Not to mock but to spice up the otherwise boring bg. Damn I miss u guys.

I don't see anything wrong from those players, they only follow the rules of the game or the game mechanic or governments constitutional law (lol). They didn't even use hack or  glitch while doing that.

First of all the majority of most mmorpg, like this game usually urge or strongly persuade players even if that person is a democrats or republican to pk or preform murder against the opposite faction by using a rewarding system from quest & ranks, including the quest story line.

Your Post isnt helpful in any way nor does it answer any of his questions or giving him a bit of advice.

No one said its wrong to kill other players from the opposite fraction.

But its kinda annoying as a Low or even Newbe, if you get killed over and over again from max- geared people and its not really a respectable move. Why dont they face someone on their own lvl ( who are geared up on the same level as they are), instead of bothering and annoy lowbe's who just try to do their quests to catch up? Afraid to lose the fight and feel the failure, like they do to lowbe's? Cause its easier to smash lowbe's with the Knowledge to succeed and boost their own Ego to feel better. Thats just poor, sorry.

I prefer to have a real competition, a real fight with someone on the same lvl like me, to figure out my weak points and what i can change to get better instead of having an easy win in my pocket.

I've never attacked any Lowbe, neither on the old EU/US Server nor here and i'll never, cause its pretty much unfair and tbh it wouldnt make me feel any better to kill someone who is lower geared/lvl'ed than i am just to ruin their fun for my own joy or to finish a pk-quest. I prefer to let this quest being undone, instead of chasing low/newbe's and smash them until they lose the fun of the game and log off, maybe making them never come back, making Vendetta losing players.

I know everyone has a different opinion on those games and systems and thats okay. But shouldnt we all at some point, trying to keep players and newbe's since we just have a small playerbase here compared to other games?

Kindness is the way.

Just my 2 cents.

I know the rules at PVP area, it's normal to kill or be killed but that situation above. The fact that they can stroll to opposite base, shrug off NPC attack, procceed to spawn kill you & then got out of NPC range without their HP fall below 50% really ticks me off so much 😬. Yeah, i can fight back but 100% granted i'll be doing miniscule amount of damage to them not to mention i'm more of a PVE-er even when i'm still playing SWTOR for year & a half. I can tank Helios damage output with my delta uni +8 gear (except shoes, i'm still using base version cuz curse rng drop), up to date with my level acc except earrings (again curse rng drop at factory plus i don't wanna register at BG anymore) but i'm like a wet tissue to those lv cap players with their high end gear

The player that keep harassing me on escort quest keep spawn killing me for 30min until i just nope out of viledon back to main questing at Barbiron. While the other one who keep harassing me when i'm just trying my best at killing Helios (already reach damage output or reduce it's HP for 1m until he killed me 😧) keep doing it for almost an hour & half spawn killing me while i just stood there, cuz i'm making account & thread here at this forum.

Yeah it's annoying at the time all those thing happened but thinking back now it's actually kind of funny & sad at the same time. The fact that those lv cap players took their time playing their game to keep killing me for their own idea of fun xD

Like most of y'all said i'll just stick to DG or main quest to keep leveling, but gonna make another attempt to fight helios before i hit lv 40
