Lasnight Posted April 29 Report Posted April 29 I believe I mentioned an idea like this in a thread some years back as well, but since I'm playing again for a bit I figured it's worth making a proper post about: I think the game would benefit from uni laser scanners being added to either a drop pool or quest rewards somewhere in Viledon and/or Nemesis. As it stands, the only reliable way for new players (rare as they are these days) to get their hands on one is through the market, where they cost about 1k a piece. That's not too bad for endgame players, but for someone who just recently started and is just dipping their toes into the lvl 30+ maps, that is far beyond what they can afford, especially considering how you need 7 of em for a full set of gear and another 6 if you include accessories in that, though some of those can also be acquired through different means. As for where to put them, I think technically treasure chests in Barbiron can already drop them, but those rates are so low that they might as well not exist. Personally I think they could be a nice reward for something like the daily escorts, or perhaps as a final dungeon boss drop in SF or IV. Battlegrounds and world bosses might also be an option, but with how rarely you actually get enough people to join either of those at lower levels I dont think those would be a solution to the problem at hand. 1 Quote
cameon Posted April 29 Report Posted April 29 Yea good point been thinking of a similair thibg back on that cap and when i went back. You could also just add them to sime dungeon or boss loot with a rare chance or boos chest drop rate. I remever hunting the cheats for days to get a few that i was not even able to trade. I mean same goes for things like rings for lvl 48 you cant even get some anymore. I doubt anything will change tho. I tried getting things fixed a few times and nothing ever happend. Quote
Lasnight Posted April 30 Author Report Posted April 30 lvl 48 rings are an issue as well, but the 30 day versions are actually pretty easy to get since they drop from the lucky boxes Cheryl sells (seems to be about 1% droprate, so ~700g per ring) so at least those still exist to patch up that gap, lvl 42 trinkets are a bigger issue since they only drop from artifact chests, and their droprate seems to be incredibly low, and I'm not even sure lvl 32 trinkets drop anywhere anymore either. Zeta boots are in a similar spot, with them only dropping from 2 bosses who nobody kills anymore, but at least you get a free pair of those when you hit 40. Still, for someone just passing through Vile and Neme, you dont need a full set of accessories, so I think those are less pressing issues than the lack of scanners to at least use the handful of uniques you do manage to get while lvling through those maps, because at least 30d rings dont need a scanner. 1 Quote
cameon Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 Well Zeta Boots you can also use crystals to make unique out of rare once, shame that does not work for accessories. I think most Players don't care anyway since they all power Level through that cap most of the time. so its like 3 Players that actually care or would care. but yea Trinkets is an issue for sure with that drop rate. I'm more annoyed with rings since when I'm just cap hopping and play for a few days on it I every time need to get new once, gold isn't really the issue but since I'm some what of a min max I always roll till I get the perfect once and can be somewhat annoying now than no one is even selling anymore. I used to just buy the once others sold in AH. for lvl cap hopping I prefer something permanent else it always feels like a waste of time and gold. Quote
