If you haven't already, it may be worth a complete re-install of the launcher or make sure the game isn't being blocked by an anti-virus. Seems like somewhere the connection is dying, which could be a corrupted install or something not liking the game.

If you are trying to connect from Australia, before going for a full VM, perhaps try a VPN first. It could be the connection route your internet is taking.
