It wasn't because of OP stats, but because I had plans of releasing something else should it work.
To be perfectly honest, it probably wont work so I'm just gonna outright say it. I had plans on releasing legendary gear later (a step above unique). The cap at +10 was there so that if the new gear was released as legendary as well, it wouldn't be a kick in the teeth to people who got it to +12.

So the way NB/AK work is that it's seen different then a battleground in the files. I could test having the game read it like any normal battleground, like janus, turnpike, etc, but I have no idea how well it'll work aside from the fact it'll have to remove certain aspects of the bg.
The file the controls AK/NB, for example, tells the flag to drop and to give the buff when placed. That's not a param in the file for Janus and the other normal bgs. So changing it to a registration (meaning putting it in Janus' files and hoping for the best) would remove that part of AK. If it were to happen, I could see about a different way to obtain wings, but the main concept of winning AK through flag planting may possibly be lost - kinda defeating the point of it to begin with.I also misread the post at first and saw that you suggested possibly removing them to being with, but still going to leave that paragraph there in case anyone else asks.
To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't mind the possibility of changing them to registration, under the condition it doesn't destroy the main concept of AK/NB in the process should they remain a weekly/daily thing. As for making them an hourly rotation like Janus and such, it's an idea we can explore and see what happens. Though I wouldn't think any time soon as I still plan on ironing out bugs and balance again later.

Small patch this week just fixing some of the things people have been constantly bringing up.
More bug fixes and such will come over the course of the next few weeks.
We're in the process of working on a patch that'll help improve the new player experience and possibly the solo player experience, so stay tuned for that!
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed the missing Movement Speed enchantment on all Iota Chic shoes - no new item is needed for this change to take effect
- Fixed the missing PvP DEF and % PvP Void on all Iota Blade suits - no new item is needed for this change to take effect
- Fixed the incorrect sealing stats on the 60+ Earrings and Trinkets - no new item is needed for this change to take effect
If these fixes do not show properly on the stat page, take off the gear and put it back on.

This was not listed in the patch notes and honestly I forgot to ask Bash to do it.
Last major patch, I did a test fix for Amara's escort quests, replacing that map id with Viledon's.
Doing this broke quite a few things with Viledon, so it's been reverted back with this patch. Because of this, high levels may appear in lower level Viledon rather then Amara.
If you see someone not porting out (though they'll have deadmans debuff on), let a GS know and I will force move them out.
