What portion of the cave is it that you're crashing in?
And have you tried entering via the Short Range Teleporter to Devilkin Cave rather then run to it? If that works, once you teleport you can try to continue the auto path from that point.

Have you tried running the game in compatibility mode?
Right click the SB.exe and the SBLauncher.exe, select properties, go to compatibllity and check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select Windows 7.
Also yes, you should always download both x64 and x86 C++ redistributable packages.
