Yeah. The longer you wait in getting uni earrings, the harder it is to get them as you level up.

A good rule of thumb is to have at least the uni earrings for your current tier before moving up. Currently, the exception is going from the 40s tier to the 50s tier as it's a lot harder to get medals in the 50s tier. If you're in the 40s tier, make sure you have enough RPs and Medals on stand by so you can just purchase the lvl 54 earrings the moment you reach lvl 54. Just keep a watch out for people who will just attack and bully you while you're farming RPs. Sadly there are people like that here.

Never rush to the higher tiers unprepared. Especially the highest one.

Barbiron at first was a little tricky in finding the monsters necessary to trigger this quest. The Gunslingers in the area inside of the light blue loop trigger satisfy the quest requirements. The Exiled Bishops within the area inside of the green loops satisfy the quest requirements. Almost all of the monsters in the yellow region satisfy the quest. I would recommend doing that quest somewhere in that yellow region. http://imgur.com/a/y5Fh4
