This was my free time and this was the time I could have been spending working on my self or playing games (Something people definitely didn't appreciate but whatever). So I'm sorry if you think thats me being selfish and not listening but quite honestly it was either "Classic Eden opens or it doesn't" and not "Should we open Grand Fantasia or should we open Classic Eden". Like I said you (the community) do not decide what games get opened and we shouldn't be reflected negatively for that, yes you can point us in the direction you want and give us reason to go that way but if it doesn't make sense for us or we don't have the capacity to do so we're not just going to go looking for someone to force a project and we're not going to put more strain on ourselves. Like whats stopping this so called leap of faith from running away with the files or someone who gives up and just leaves the game in a sitting ditch until its too late. Bash has been running this network for so many years and he's hosted many games, the amount of war stories this man has about being screwed over by even people he'd consider a close friends would suprise you. This isn't as simple as a job interview and are you qualified for the job as the skill to do the job is less important than the trust you need to earn the job (All it takes is 1 cog in the machine to break and everything about it tumbles down).

    We are happy with the position we're in now and we don't need people telling us or implying that we have to open projects just because it was suggested. Grand Fantasia has always been a project at the forefront of all server discussions for the very reasons you pointed out. But again, unless we announce it and then cancel it before release, I don't see how you can feel slapped in the face as we've never said yes. To be quite honest its attitudes like this that will actually harm the chances of a game server. As this is one of the biggest stress points of both Scarlet Blade and Classic Eden. Where people begged for it for various reasons and then as soon as something isn't going their way they start acting like we've just punched them in face. People can sound as genuine as they like when suggesting but if history has taught us anything most of what people say is potentially going to fly straight through the window when we do 1 thing wrong and 10 things right.

     

    Twin Saga failed for many reasons and to be quite honest it was getting better before it closed. It went from some days having about 0-4 active users at peak time to almost 100 active users at peak time before it closed. However, as you played it you probebly remember that we encountered a bug that would take far too many resources to fix and even then your looking at a couple of weeks of downtime to fix it properly. On a game that was already struggling that downtime would have killed it and honestly speaking theres not 100% guarantee that it would be fixed. If that crash didn't happen and I had my chance to keep it going I fully believe that game could have had a resurgance and still been alive to this day. I even have asked Bash in the past to maybe reopen this game at some point as I'd love to give it a go along with Aura Kingdom.

    As for Classic Eden. Not really sure what you mean about take-off and not profitting? This game was smashing records on a daily basis for the first few months. We had yellow channels during the boss spawn events (something Awaken has never had even when it first opened). That game was booming and was in one of the most successful states Eden's been in for a long time. Yeh lately its calmed down, maybe a bit too much to where its concerning but most of the people who have quit Classic mainly quit due to boredom. You have the sore losers who cant win quit because they're bored of losing and you have the people who rush content so they have every awaken in a week and then they're bored again. The games over 10 years old and theres many newer and more refined versions of the game like Twin Saga and Aura Kingdom that are available. You have very successful mobile games that played in a similar fashion by X-Legend too like Aura Kingdom 2 and Laplace/Tales of Wind. Grand Fantasia will be no different, there will be 1000's of people who are itching to get started but 6 - 8 months later? I promise you there will be at best a quarter of w.e numbers we start with.

    I'd also like to suggest that you should really stop comparing Classic to Grand Fantasia as again it puts a negative light on your suggestion. We had 100's of people suggestion Classic, we saw discords with 1000's of people forming when other people where potentially opening a new Eden Classic server but yet what happened? People loved it for the first few months, yeh there was complaints but what active games don't have complaints? Then what happened? Slowly over time the nostalgia declined, people went back to Awaken or back to w.e game they where playing before Classic opened. The games not dead thats for sure. But obviously we're not happy with the current state and the last thing we'd wanna do is open another game to each resources and end in the same boat. You could argue "Well Grand Fantasia wont be like that". But people said the same about Classic yet it happened.

    I fully believe the above asside that Grand Fantasia isn't a bad project. But it's something I for one will not be involved with much unless both Eden servers are gone. I would also caution you to instead of trying to state why we've done you wrong and how we should do this and that maybe you should focus on the OP and place your support in the game. Cause from my perspective the way your going now is going to do nothing but harm the chances of a Grand Fantasia server.

     

    So TL;DR

    You can say we don't owe you anything but you then can act disrespected when we don't give it. It's either one or the other.

    We have no reason to need to expand and if we are to expand we do it of our own choice and not because people think we have to.

    Getting developers isn't a walk in the park and a CM who points the game in a direction only solves at best 50% of the work.

    Twin Saga was a fail to a degree but was turning around. Classic was anything but a fail and only lately is going a bit down hill, mainly due to sore losers and nostalgia drying up.

    Stop comparing the process behind Classic and Grand Fantasia as its only harming your point as if we knew how much stress, how much work and how fast the nostalgia will burn out before we opened we likely wouldn't have (This is not me saying I regret it, as I don't. But as mentioned in above responses my health took a massive hit because of Eden Classic).

    I don't believe its a bad decision to open Grand Fantasia but I will have no part in it other than the odd help of pointing people the right ways in terms of development so that they don't run into problems later down the line. Unless Eden was gone, then maybe I would take on a new project if Bash where to open something else.

     

    Yes.

    In my opinion GF private server could be good to open rn but the best is just to wait until the game gets shut down. because people can only choose between never GF again, a trashy pserver which might not survive this long and a prolly good pserver.

    I always love to read about this topic. Sadly i didnt notice the huge increase of members on the VGN Discord which was intentionally made to show how many players wait patient for a VGN GF server.
    There is a huge playerbase which waits for something to happen on the Aeria server for years as well. Aeria simply just refuses do to anything, not the slightest useful balancing, item/ap changes, pve changes - they literally dont show any effort to keep this game alive its just self-funded by whales at this point. It seems like they just wanna drain the last money out of the community until the game dies. 


    Even if i already wait for years to happen and i multiple times asked for a VGN server i dont want this server to be rushed or the staff to be overworked, ive never seen a this passionate and competent group of people hosting a private server and i would love to see you keep doing work like this in EE, GF or any other game you are interested in by yourself.

    Tbh as EE Classic and EE itself took, also the GF server would need A LOT (like seriously a shit ton) of work to appeal to people. And some needed things also might make some ppl dont wanna play this server. Especially some class nerfes will cause a lot of people crying cuz they cant dominate any pvp/pve content anymore by barely knowing anything about the class or the gamein total (as it sadly always is in MMOs). Additionally the performance issues, scalings, balancing in pve and pvp, removing of some content which just makes the game totally pointless will take time and preparation. The content which could be added to make the game more fun is also a big thing but something which isnt needed rn but i do think about that often, as well as i created multiple lists by myself in the past with things which should/must be adjusted to make the game more active and also interesting for new ppl. 
    If you want a overview in total just to check what should be done before thinking about a server just contact me. 

    Just to say: Dont rush anything, dont start any server you dont want and I hope some ppl stop annoying you with this topic multiple times a day. You will announce it if the server will happen in the next 10 years (yus old ppl playing GF) and thats totally fine. Most people who urge you to start it wont agree with most needed changes anyway or just want the same feeling as in 2010 which definitely wont happen. These people also never played GF until endgame seriously so they just living in the past.

    I hope u guys doing great, EE classic was fun but actually i prefered Awa server but most ppl ik left for the classic sadly.

    I can but there is no sense in pushing the GMs. I guess they will answer to the right time. I mean only the other thread alrdy has over 2,6k views and im pretty sure these arent all but all of them are ppl who are interested in GF. Its like with Coronavirus. 2,6k are the official numbers and there are 3x more as dark numbers :P Im pretty sure if done right theres about 10k players - even if not, there more than 10 players who spend 1k+ every month so it doesnt matter.

  4. Well in total. I can absolutely understand that you and a lot of people want to know if they plan about anything rn or if the 1k+ members are already "a word"  which gives a chance for a server - I feel kinda similar. BUT I really want to say that hype wont help this server as well as ppl who arent patient and cant wait. This server will take time - maybe a lot because Bash and Jordan really need to take care of their health and to do this right (if they start this server). Otherwise they will HAVE TO shut down the server after a few months because they cant handle the amount of work this takes.

    Also I understand why a lot of players are worried about this server to be scam but every intelligent human would join this server and read the infos we give them in the server (thats why i suggested Drownn to link the forum and post some screens from the GMs answers to keep this as transparent as possible) and then decide if its fake or not. They dont need to be hyped up they need to join and stay if they think it is worth a try - nothing else. And if they dont believe in a server to start then why should they even join? 

    Of course as i already stated you could add a message and tell them to join, read the info channels and then decide what they want are will do. This is the only way to handle this. If the word spreads and people keep joining without ANY PROMISE of a server the GMs can see that there are people who will be there to play even if it takes months or a year to set up the server with good settings and balance. 

    Personally I would LOVE TO talk to Bash or Jordan about their opinions, suggestions, possible things, profit they have to make to pay the server and their work effort (more money for them both motivates them of course more :P)  and other stuff or to tell them what I think about the game. BUT it all depends about what they want and if THEY have the time and motivation to even talk to players. 
    I think it couldnt be bad to check if the things this server need to run properly (yeh i already thought a lot about whats needed and worked on a document that i started years ago) are even POSSIBLE from DEVELOPER SIDE. I sadly dont have as much knowledge from pservers, and the effort it takes to run, modify and maintain them, as i would love to. 

    Try to explain that to your friends and all the people who think this is a scam again MrShadow this takes time to do it right.
    I will ask Drownn to add those screens you linked above to the Discord as well. They kinda show that the server could happen because the GMs thought multiple times about it  IF there are enough patient players.

    On Official server it was at the end really a chaos to run people in dungeons, cause those runners wanted more gold for the runs from their leechers and no one of the leechers was willing to do that, since they needed some money too to catch up.     I know from an other game that there is a possibility to change the xp-curve, so im pretty sure they can change the required amount of exp to lvl up in GF aswell. Would be a good idea.

    I think if this game would start with a lvl 60 cap and higher it over time and the game is running successfully, there wont be a problem to even get to a lvl 100 cap+, cause people love updates/more content. Ofc a few things have to be fixed/changed by the vendetta team, cause aeria did a lot of bad things before the Server shut down, but i think Bash/Jordan can do it and it will be a full success. 

    True tbh leechers do nothing so back in times when it was 150g per MO 100g per run was absolutely fine if not even 120 when runestone boxes came out so leechers had a second income while leeching. I often bought those stones from leechers for a fair price so both benefit from that.

    The problem mit more content is there are also more cash shop items for different lvls and aeria never tried to keep enough of these items ingame so the prices exploded :/

     

    I personally dont think a level cap is needed. Tons of things can be adjusted or slightly changed to make this game even better. Sprite emblems, crafting, Weapons bonuses, RESISTANCE SYSTEM would love to try that finally working in GF.

    Reducing the over all exp rate im not sure about that but i think reaching lvl 50 i too easy tbh. Maybe they could increase the amount of exp required on these level.

    If Bash/Jordan handle this right (and i know they can) then it doesnt matter which cap will be released. Also it doesnt matter which over all cap exists.

     Level 40-60 got close to none content especially 40 and 50 and a game without content dies - discussion done.
    Let the people level in their own speed nothing wrong with that but there is no sense to restrict players and force them to stay 60 or lower just because you want low level pvp to be active^^ 
    You want to feel the same in this game as back in 2010 - you wont and this will never happen. 

    This server wont survive with low lvl content.

    So the game just needs 40-60 pvp ? Well go play other games than^^ A MMO is about progress and will ever be about progress - Either in lvl or gear. If you think the table was good for a fresh launched server you have sadly no knowledge about the game or the economy.

    Well, I can prove to you that the limit of dungeons per day positively affects the price of in-game items, obviously reducing the alts will greatly decrease gold hardfarm that a small portion of players do. unfortunately, IP limit can be circumvented easily. so, nothing that i say was wrong or right, this is just my vision, and im "studying" this game for a long time. ^^

    As well as you im playing this game since release and of course you arent wrong but also not right. Level 40 cap would just bore literally every person who loves to run dungeons, farm stuff and to grind. Only people who personally love lv 40 pvp would appeal to this while the others will leave after several days. Lv 60 cap is a bracket you can alrdy farm different dungeons also difficult ones, access to world bosses and heralds also the master system is available. Of course there are players who want to stay 40 or enjoy the arena a bit but a lot of people need to realise that this game is an MMO and those games focus on progress not on low lvl pvp with 5 skills per class. Most people i know would definitely play lv 40 arena but only for a pvp set or to finish some fames and reputations then they would go to 70 (depends on the cap). Maybe a lot of people you know, like the lv 40 arena but this doesnt mean that my and my friends opinion is "the community" same for you and your friends. And even then: half of this community doesnt know how this game work, the conomy works or how balancing works - even high lvl players with maxed out chars and multiple lvl 100s who play since release sometimes dont know anything. 

    Your idea to create accounts only with a phone number is pretty good but on the other side bad because you cant create storage accounts or a buff char. Running dungeons with alts is of course pretty bad for the economy but a cap as well. A cap will just result in a few people who spent money to hoard all the gold ingame while others dont have the chance to farm it (farming is a essential thing in MMOs). Also leveling sprites on different chars is a thing that never was bad for the game since at least half of the community doesnt even use their sprite (no sprites = no gear = no game). 
    The solution for this problem is to make groups more attractive than solo running with alts ( which is boring asf). If groups in dungeons are fun and give enough gold even at end lvl then ppl prefer to run in groups instead of using alts. The best example is: DD gives 250g (lv 96+ dungeon) while PT gives 135g (lv 68-78 dungeon) this isnt even close to fair for end level players and of course most people will do alts to run low lvl ez dungeons which give way more gold. Low level dungeon rewards need to be reduced not the number of runs capped. Also there are several other options to keep the economy balanced. 

    Siwa server was a disaster and this because of the trash tables, the bad announcement, no balancing, same p2w and because all players knew aeria will handle this bad. It was close to impossible to find MFIs, normal mounts, clovers, legacies, sprite consumes or costumes and backpacks in the first days. And why? Because the tables where trash, the shop was the same as on the Offi with bad items, prices and amounts and no one wants to spent money on anything because of this. And even if they did the tables were useless the first 3 days. I had 4!!! cbms on the first day and i didnt bought any clays per item shop (bought them from the gold i made with DT runs) and still i had 0 MFIs or backpacks. You get what i mean, right? Thats the biggest problem. Aeria doesnt know what they do or how marketing works or what items they need to release in the first days and im 100% SURE that half of the community would still ask for these things just because they have no clue, game knowledge and they are used to get these things from tables. 

    You cant control the market. It controls itself by availability of items and gold. If the gold  amounts in the game are too high there is always the option to increase costs for spells, talent crafting, sprite crafting, endgame gear, higher quality gear etc. I ABSOLUTELY get your point but the solution needs to be another.

    To the lvl cap: In my opinion lvl 80 would make sense to release if some stuff gets adjusted. Also some map exp must be adjusted, as well as sprite exp on lower levels could be less and in higher levels need to be increased. Of course level 60 would work but only for around 2 weeks maximum and it is boring because some people arent allowed to grind how much they want thats just not how a MMO should work. 

    I appreciate to discuss with people who actually really think about how to handle this well :3

    Edit: 

    The exp needed to reach something like level 50 could be increased this would make the beginning a bit slower and could make the people get back into the old feeling. Also i really think its way too fast how you reach lv 40 rn.

    I cannot promise anything but I can see about doing something, we just need to be sure it fits right. I need to assess a few things including my own well being before I decide to take on another project. I've only recently returned and taking on a big project like this might be bad for the network at it's current stage.

    The continued interest does re-ignite and I can't lie we had this game on the test server with a website and full back end all done. It was pretty much thumbs up and we had to cancel so it's not as if we've not been almost there before.

Yeh of course your and Jordan's health needs to be focussed on, as already stated no one wants you to run the game and overwork you, this affects the other games, you of course and will be the fast end of this try to start sth. like that. We definetely dont want to risk the current state or affect your health (again if im right). Also thats why i wrote this much to make clear there is a big playerbase and also a lot of spenders (over a long time) to be sure it makes profit and doesnt pull your other projects down. 

    Right now Drownn created a Discord and we are trying to invite as many GF related ppl who agree with the idea and definetely would try it. Of course (since i know that from several bad experiences before) hype is often ad bad condition for a game to start so we try to make the people clear to not expect something but to show their interest.

    Also we are trying to collect suggestions about the game and what needs to be changed or is most important to focus on. Is that a good thing for you? To know how much work needs to be done to make this game run well and not end like the Siwa server (well aeria sucks). I also would love to hear some things which are the most important for you GMs to run the game so the community could think about them.

    Im really surprised you already had Test server (already more than aeria ever had LOL), but thats a really good thing cuz testing is a really important thing to make a game a long runner, interesting, with good gameplay and balance. Also it is (for me personally) a positive message cuz you already have experience with the GF code (probably more or the same as aeria works - no im not bashing aeria thats pretty much facts).

    We posted the message you have written before in the Discord to make the whole discussion transparent and more understandable for the interested people.

    I absolutely understand all of your points same counts for Jordan (especially the thing with stealing the data if you would involve "volunteers"). The thing is (in my opinion since ive played EE for years and GF for like 8 or 9 years) EE is a way more PvE focussed game than GF is. Endgame in GF is about PvP and optimizing your gear. There are three main reasons why the game dies: 1. Aeria doesnt ban people who missbehave because of AP AP as well as they dont treat people in the community the same. 2. They fucked up class balance with releasing broken classes to force everyone to make them then they literally nerfed all classes instead of these both and PvP is hella boring so there is no sense to go into PvP (either u are one shot or all are immortal). 3. The game is next level p2w because of things like GM wishes and the only focus in this game is on clays (which could be changed so this game makes still huge profit but you arent forced to pay 600€ per month to keep up with others). 

    Last year there was a big announced pserver for GF there was a Discord server about it etc. In under 2 weeks over 5000 people joined that Discord while most people (especially spanish, portuguese) didnt join cuz they thought its fake or dont speak english well so only their friends who speak english joined the server to translate the announcements. 
    I absolutely dont know if 5k players is a lot for you but its more than the playerbase on all official servers together.
    This game is kinda a selfrunner and new dungeon content isnt what is needed to keep the game alive. The PvP needs to be "fine" not even perfect and people play this game forever. The community formed (cuz the GMs asked us to) a group of experienced PvP players to write down things which arent really balanced or could be changed also what needs to be changed and other stuff how to improve the gameplay in PvP, PvE or whatever. I know people who just play the game to spam dungeons even if u dont get anything out of it. 
    The best example for how crowded this server could be was the new server called "Siwa" they started in 2018 if im right. Ive seen some problems already one week before launch and told the GM (he got fired) about it but he said its all carved in stone and there is no chance to change things and so it happened (what a wonder - aeria doesnt know to run games idk if they even know how to run by themselfes) and the game failed after 4 months and people STILL spent thousands of dollars/euro. I know at least 4-5 people who spent (each of them) around 0,7-2k at a single event. Just imagine how it could work if some brains (take it as a compliment) like you run a server. You did a great if not even perfect job for EE. I loved that game and i still do but my heart will always beat for Grand Fantasia cuz it has several unique things ive never seen in any other of the dozens f2p games ive played.

    Holy shit i already wrote a novel so i try to sum this up fast and precisely.

    Pros:
    - 5k+ people who would play
    - a lot of whales (high spenders for ppl who dont know this) and mostly all players spend around 10-50 per month
    - old players could come back, 50% left because of Aeria

    - selfrunner-game because of PvP focus and long time focussed PvE (you don't farm stuff as fast as in Eden and ppl still dont get bored)

    - People are done with Aeria they stay because there is only a bad private Server around which is pretty dead and did literally ALL mistakes Aeria did itself - a lot of people are searching for exactly this thing (even more through quarantine which will last way longer than expected)

    - The community is all time ready to help out with ideas for changes or whatever, you dont have to do this alone

    - If there is time to create new content for you it is pretty easy because X-Legend didnt use existing part in the game ( they never expanded items or already existing content) they just released new things which doesnt even match the game

    - The game is as Jordan mentioned similar to EE in a lot of things, mechanics etc. 

    - for example GF got a resistance system like EE which doesnt work since release (like how tf) and just implementing this working would already make the community freak out since it could change the whole gameplay

    - Players are already happy with a PvP Event instead of regular content - there have been tons of Player hosted events without GMs or Gs getting involved before the new classes came

     

    Cons:

    - new classes needs to be removed or changed from their penetration focus to defdown as all other classes, since penetration doesnt work with this game

    - a lot of spells with durations, dmg, cooldowns must be adjusted to balance the game (this is especially needed for high lvl or endlvl content) but balancing is a progress and it was ignored since this game was released - balancing wont happen in one day but is also the biggest part to do (since i have no clue how much work it is to change the new classes. if their code isnt salad it should be fine but ive never seen their code)

    - it could take some time to think how to make this game as much non p2w as you did with EE (great job. never thought thats possible) of course there must be profit but profit doesnt necessarily needs p2w


    Other people: You are free to add pros/cons yourself - to keep it objective try to find a con for every pro argument (not like me pls im trash).


    Jordan & Bash: I absolutely understand that you dont want to open a game which u have to close a few months later because of missing capacities.     True that. As i said before if they really need help to start something like this: I guess there are a lot of ppl in this community who would help (guess there are some ppl with coding experience etc).

  13. We know but what im interested in is: What does it take you to open a new server. What are the things you guys need to open another game. Maybe there is something the community is able to do. Would love to know how we could help to maybe give the game a new chance.

    You cant plan or think about another game with the ressources atm thats obviously.

  14. Tbh I know running already 3 games is a lot of work and takes a huge amount of time. There was a fake announce for a new GF p-Server and in not even one week close to 2k people joined the Discord ready to play and spend money (a lot of GF player are hard casher 1-3k€). If the GMs maybe would try to check how many ppl are interested (a voting we could share or by creating a discord or anything like this) they could think about if its worth and maybe find some people who are interested in taking a part of the work creating/helping to create the server. Also the Official server got so many problems and bad patches same as EE and most of the balancing problems in GF are way easier to solve than in EE also GF doesnt need a huge effort to add new endgame content since it got enough to do and also got a big focus on PvP. Even adding new content or balancing et - I already know around 10 ppl who would love to spend their time helping as much as they can since they dont like the Official server and told me they would immediately come back if VGN opens a server.

     

    I appreciate your work on all the other games you keep alive and let the people have fun at but in my opinion none of the games you hosting atm had a this huge playerbase as GF. Even PT/ES/JP/FR/BR players who cant talk/write english would play on the server since they played the game long enough to know how it works. 

    I would love to get a reaction from our loved Bash if we could try to find out how many people are interested and how many people could or want to spend time to start a project like thi cuz I dont htink the team size atm is able to hande one more game, I think more of they could need some more help in the other games aswell. Maybe there is a chance to find some volunteers helping out with the old games aswell as with a new project. ❤️
