DEF piercing and VOID piercing.

Recommended Posts

Well technically mobs can have pretty much any stat that players can have, thus this really depends on each mob. I would though say that most mobs are more def-based. However, I have not done an extensive test on this and not 100% sure that piercing even works on them. Those jewels and stats were introduced later on and were all meant to be more PvP based.

You have to take into consideration how the stats are applied and what affects what. There is a forum post that goes into great detail to explain them. Including formulas, like this..
Reduced Physical Damage = (Physical Damage) * (100 - %VOID) / 100 - DEF
It will essentially tell you what your reduced damage is based on your stats and that of the incoming damage. However it does not then take into account the piercing which is also figured like these.

Reduced DEF = DEF * (100 - %DEF Pierce) / 100

Reduced %VOID = %VOID * (100 - %VOID Pierce) / 100

Reduced %Chakra Resistance = %Chakra Resistance * (100 - %CH Pierce) / 100

So depending what the starting value of DEF or VOID is on a player or mob and how much you can lower it before the calculations are done to find actual damage applied.

What I'm also trying to write is if the DEF apart from reducing 1 of ATK depending on how much DEF you have, the VOID would be the percentage of the ATK reduction in PvE and PvP.

That depending on how much DEF and VOID is haved, it will drastically reduce the ATK in PvE and PvP.

But if the DEF is 0 and you have 9,000 VOID (90% of VOID), ¿Will the VOID still reduce the percentage of the ATK in PvE and PvP depending on how much DEF you have?

If the DEF is at 0 and the VOID is at 9,000, ¿Would that make the VOID useless in PvE and PvP?

I am not even remotely sure what you are saying here. Nether will reduce the attack they both increase it, because they both lower the targets def or void by piercing thru a certain percentage of it. Think of them as lowering a DEF stat or VOID by that much.. Look over the formulas I shown it will explain in math what happens. It does not affect your def or void unless the player or mob uses it against you... Now if we were to give a Boss VOID or DEF Pierce or something yes it would lower your DEF or VOID. Just like a straight debuff for a AOE would lower it, think like Tartatrus there is a EVA debuff in the boss rooms.

Ok after reading this again, I think you are trying to say will the persons VOID still reduce it even if zero DEF. The answer is yes.... As it is figured as a reduction in damage in the formula.

Reduced Physical Damage = (Physical Damage) * (100 - %VOID) / 100 - DEF

Person receives less damage cause the attack sent in is lowered by X amount first by VOID and then Y amount by DEF

It will not be though affected by your DEF or VOID it is their DEF n VOID that matters on incoming attacks.
